Macaw Camping Lodge / Macaw Clay Lick Sandoval Lake 4D/3N

Macaw adventure offers you comfortable camping service, with tents with mosquito nets mattress very thick, table with chairs especially equipped for the jungle. Also optional lodge in the Macaw camping lodge and about our staff has more than 10 years of experience in jungle adventure camping and lodging trips

Day 1: Cusco / Journey To The Jungle Adventure/ Campsite

Reception in the airport and then go to the port where you will receive a tropical fruit beverage and begin our motor boat trip up the Madre de Dios river depending on the arrival time we will have our box lunch on board during the boat ride our guide will tell us about the different confluences of rivers on this area. on the way we will see different kind of birds like: herons, egrets, cormorants, wild ducks, vultures, kingfishers, eagles, caracaras, caimans sunning on the beaches , capybaras ( the largest rodent in the world) in the evening after dinner we look for nocturnal birds and baby caimans with our torches where the guide will show and explain you we overnight in a comfortable tent

Day 2: Macaw Clay Lick / Walks / Macaw Camping Lodge

arly in the morning before breakfast we continue our trip up river to get the macaw camping lodge where is the pariamanu macaw clay lick where we will see macaw and parrots gather in a multicolored spectacle to eat the clay on the river bank this is an experience you will never forget after that we take a hike to look for monkeys insects , fungus, frogs, etc .return to the macaw camping lodge for lunch and a rest. After that we can visit the mammal clay lick to have a chance to see mammals. Return to the macaw camping lodge for dinner. After that we can take a night walk to see nocturnal animals, insects and visit the mammal clay lick again. We can also make our campfire where the guide will tell you the mystery jungle histories. We overnight in the macaw camping lodge and depend on your reservation you spend the night in tents or in a basic rustic lodge

Day 3: Macaw Camping Lodge / Sandoval Lake / Lodge

Very early in the morning at 5 am we leave macaw camping lodge to go directly down river for 5 - 6 hours by motorized boat to the Sandoval lake We will have our breakfast on the boat. .then we get the Sandoval lake control for checking and start for one hour walk to get the lake shore where is the Mejia lodge. The lodge does not have private bathrooms but it is located into the reserve zone which is the difference with the other lodges .where we guaranty you will see more flora and fauna and be in touch with the nature. We will visit the Sandoval lake Where we take a long easy canoe around the lake where we will look for giant otters, black caimans, hoatzins, wading birds such as: herons, cormorants, kingfishers, etc. Then we can practice fishing piranhas, sardines, catfishes) etc. we can have a swim in the lake without any danger. Return to the lodge for dinner and after dinner we will visit again the amazing lake (padding) with our torches to see black caimans where the guide will show and explain you .We overnight in a comfortable lodge.

Day 4: Sandoval Lake / Pto Maldonado / Airport

After breakfast we take one hour walk to go the port where we take the boat to go back to Puerto Maldonado and from there to the airport
