Volunteer Work Program in the Park of Manu

Conditions:

  • The program consists of a study and a period of work, both should last at least four weeks. The study period is to prepare you for the projects.
  • During your stay here in Cusco (language course and volunteer) that is to stay with one of our families.
  • You do not need a work permit and does not charge any fee.
  • For those who have much time, organizing special events weekend

  • The support fund is voluntary for students, this special fund will be used to support the native communities of Manu National Park in particular for children in communities attending school.

Basic Requirements

Language: Basic Spanish necessary.

Age: 18-45 (negotiable).

Health:
Must be in good physical and mental condition, must have all vaccinations (including yellow fever, tetanus, etc.). For a tropical medicine clinic for details. Ability to adapt to the jungle environment is essential.

Education Focus:
Physician, biologist, teacher, or fan that race, Ornithology, Eco-studies, Sociologists, anthropology, botany, and other related issues with a lot of people will do social work.

Program length:
From 1 to 3 and maximum 6 months approx.

Who provides food and transportation for volunteers:
All volunteers must provide the $ 20 per volunteer per day for food provided by the time they decide their work.

Volunteer Programs

  • PROYECT WITH IN THE HEALTH CENTER IN PNM

    This project is only for students and professional training in medicine or nursing. As such you have the opportunity to attend a general practitioner, dental therapist and other specialist while making daily work together with workers from the health post.

    This project is very important for people who want to know the forest and have an interaction with local people living in the Amazon, helping and putting into practice their knowledge, learning during their study or work experience in their country of origin.

    Also request to our volunteers who work with teams of their specialty, UD can bring on a voluntary basis if possible, to facilitate their work UD to be shared with local people. Accepts health campaigns medicine specialist group with possible and willingness of social work.

    All these works are required in the Manu National Park.


  • PROYECT WITH CHILDREN SCHOOL OF THE NATIVE COMMUNITIES IN THE PNM

    The objective of this project is to improve the nutritional status of children who go to a study center every day. Most of them are between 5 and 6.

    The center also works to improve their educational level.
    The number of children for such work is 15 to 20 children stay in the center at 8 am until 2 pm, where we would like this group of children receive a lunch of natural products rich in vitamins if possible, because that depends on voluntary donations from our volunteers.

    Your work consist in:

    • Assisting a teacher in the classroom during school hours
    • Playing with children at recess
    • Teach English language when language
    • The organization of outdoor activities on time dynamic classes
    • Teach innovative things in their country to students in the afternoon after school
    • Participate and contribute to projects organized by the center
